چکیده
Solar Water Splitting Electrically connected and optically paralleled photoelectrochemical-photovoltaic tandem architecture is placed on the coast in sunlight. A photovoltaic cell produces electricity provides it to a photocathode. silicon photocathode, which consists of TiO2 nanorods passivation layer MoS2 nanoplates, submerged under sea water generates hydrogen gas. As can be seen from enlarged part cover, edge-exposed nanoplates contribute active evolution. More details found article 2103457 by Jin Young Kim, Ho Won Jang, co-workers.

Enabling unassisted solar water splitting by iron oxide and silicon
Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting promises a solution to the problem of large-scale solar energy storage. However, its development has been impeded by the poor performance of photoanodes, particularly in their capability for photovoltage generation. Many examples employing photovoltaic modules to correct the deficiency for unassisted solar water splitting have been reported to-date. He...
متن کاملBipolar TiO,/Pt Semiconductor Photoelectrodes and Multielectrode Arrays for Unassisted Photolytic Water Splitting
Bipolar Ti02/Pt photoelectrodes were fabricated by anodization of thin Ti foils onto which Pt had been previously sputter-deposited. These photoelectrodes are capable of a vectorial charge transfer. Current-potential curves were used to predict the behavior of multielectrode arrays. Several different multielectrode cells, utilizing KOH, O2 electrolytes, were constructed. In series configuration...
متن کاملUnassisted photoelectrochemical water splitting exceeding 7% solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency using photon recycling
Various tandem cell configurations have been reported for highly efficient and spontaneous hydrogen production from photoelectrochemical solar water splitting. However, there is a contradiction between two main requirements of a front photoelectrode in a tandem cell configuration, namely, high transparency and high photocurrent density. Here we demonstrate a simple yet highly effective method t...
متن کاملFabrication and growth mechanism of three-dimensional spherical TiO(2) architectures consisting of TiO(2) nanorods with {110} exposed facets.
In this paper, we report on the fabrication of a novel rutile TiO(2) architecture consisting of nanorods with {110} exposed facets through a simple hydrothermal method without using any templates. An outside-in ripening mechanism is proposed to account for the formation of the TiO(2) architectures. The formation of the TiO(2) architectures can be attributed to the Ostwald step rule and highly ac...
